The Chococo Robot Easter Egg, or to give it it’s proper title the “C181 Robot Egg Easter Egg” a new egg for 2015 made from milk chocolate by Chococo.
When I first heard about this egg, all I knew about it was that it was a milk chocolate egg with a chocolate robot inside, rather intriguing – but nothing to get too excited about, so I gave it a try and I am so glad I did. Chococo have worked their chocolate magic (again!) and turned what could have been, quite frankly, a dull and plain egg into a fun, delicious and imaginative egg.
The outside of the Chococo Robot Easter Egg is dusted with edible silver, which gives the shell a shimmer and makes it look like it comes from outer space, a bit like you would expect a moon rock to look like. When you crack the egg open you find two C181 milk chocolate robots inside, dusted with edible gold and surrounded by mini gold ingots of sugar, embedded in the chocolate. Making it look like the egg is a chocolate spaceship and the chocolate robots have just landed!
Neither the silver or gold shimmers, on the outside of the egg or on the C181 robot inside, effect the flavour of the chocolate which is 43% cocoa Venezuelan milk chocolate, which has a rich flavour and just melts in the mouth. All of Chococo’s milk chocolate Easter eggs use the same 43% cocoa chocolate, the flavour is robust enough to stand by itself but doesn’t over power other flavours, and it simple a delight to eat.
Handmade in the UK, in the “The Chocolate Shed” a few miles from Swanage, Dorset by someone that must be covered head to toe in edible shimmer!
The C181 robot is the little brother of the BroBot, who is also available in the same milk chocolate and gold shimmer.
Labelled: Vegetarian and Gluten Free.
