Twelve of the legendary Champagne flavoured Booja Booja organic chocolate truffles in a, 6” / 15cm, hand-painted and ribbon tied ornamental egg.

These extremely popular dark chocolate truffle cubes are made with 56% cocoa and a dash of Champagne and then dusted in the finest cocoa powder, creating a light and soft truffle with a bitter taste, from the outer layer, that melts away into a smooth and creamy centre with a hint of alcohol. Simple, but beautiful.

The chocolate truffles are fabulous and the eggs they come in are rather special too; handmade and intricately hand painted in the Kashmir region, the papier mâché eggs are made by different artists and families making each egg unique and collectable.

If you are not a fan of dark chocolate I urge you to try these, the cocoa powder does give that sharp bitter cocoa taste which tends to put people off, but the centres are divine and the Champagne is not overpowering at all – everyone who has tried these, that I know at least, have loved or enjoyed them whether they liked dark chocolate or not.

A little box of organic mini chocolate Easter Eggs with a delicious milk chocolate hazelnut praline filling.

The chocolate mini eggs come in a brightly coloured box, decorated with sunflowers, lady birds and butterfly’s – just right for the spring and Easter. The box also has a little window so you can see the eggs inside.

Each of the eleven mini eggs are the same, each with an organic milk chocolate shell that yields a good snap when bitten into, inside is a rather dense and very tasty hazelnut praline, the outer shell and the chocolate filling combine to give an almost chewy consistency – very pleasant and very appealing.

This beautiful egg is from the “Free Range” eggs from Montezuma’s, the chocolatiers at Monty’s were given free range to design this years range.

There are three eggs in the Free Range collection, this stunning white creation, a milk chocolate egg and a deeply dark egg, which is vegan. The patterns on the shell of the eggs, in this case organic white chocolate, are hand piped and unique to each and egg.

The egg comes wrapped in cellophane, which has the Montezuma’s logo printed on, and tied with a bright yellow bow. They also have a little stand, inside the packaging, so that they are free standing – so you can admire them first!

Another of my favourites from last year was the Butterscotch Easter egg by Green & Black’s and it was the most popular with everyone else, defiantly had the “ummmm” factor. Crisp organic butterscotch toffee is blended into the thick chocolate shell, this adds a gentle crunch and a mellow flavour that enhances the already delicious rich milk chocolate that Green & Black’s are famous for.

Last years egg was in a box with mini eggs, this year’s has a thicker chocolate shell and no eggs. The new style box saves on cardboard and contains no plastic containers, as with all of this years Green & Black’s Easter eggs.

The Butterscotch egg is also in Easter egg collections on own Green & Black’s site.

Milk Chocolate & Orange Squiggle Organic Easter Egg

A rather wonderful looking “Arty” milk chocolate organic Easter egg, made by The Chocolate Alchemist, you can buy it from the Natural Collection, which is where I saw it.

Contained in a clear plastic box to really show it off, the Squiggle organic Easter egg is hand-crafted using the finest quality ingredients.

Hollow with a thick, milk chocolate shell and then covered in orange squiggles all over the outside – I’m guessing from the name that it is orange flavoured, but there is only one way to find out.

I want to try this egg myself, but I also think it would make the perfect present for someone with an artistic side and a sense of the creativeness behind the design. 300g organic milk chocolate Easter egg for £12.95. Labelled: Organic.
